“So…. Are you ready?”

“Ready for what?” Reid forked pieces of his pancakes into his mouth.
“Getting back to work.” Morgan explained and took a sip from his coffee. “After
the weekend you can go to your check-up and then back to field work.”
“I know. It’s weird.”
“Working?”
“Not that. Going back to my place. I got used to spending my days on your couch
with Clooney licking my toes.”

“Repeat that?”
“Don’t look like that. There was nothing sexual about that.”
“That’s not what I was thinking. When you first met Clooney you didn’t want him
anywhere near and you lectured about bacterial growth on dogs mouth.”
“Well, it’s the same thing with humans, and I don’t refuse to kiss you, do I?”
“Depends on what I’ve done…” Morgan chuckled. “Anyway, I thought you would be
thrilled to be going back to work.”
“I am. I read all the books you have in your house in the first week, and in the
end I was about to start climbing up the wall.”
“Yeah, and you almost made me go mad too.”
“I wasn’t that bad.” Reid poured sugar into his mug and stirred.

“I’m not sure if your place is exactly liveable right now.”
“Why wouldn’t it be?”
“I just mean that you haven’t been there for weeks. Dust everywhere, and those….
Help me here….”
“Airborne particles?”
“Yeah, those.”
“Liquid droplets or solids?”
”Does it matter?”
”It does. Their form is linked to their chances of causing coagulation, dispersion,
sedimentation, and impaction onto surfaces. If a particle has aerodynamic properties-”
”That doesn’t matter in this case. I just meant that you place has been sitting there
unattended for a long time. If you want you could stay at my place a little bit longer.”

”In what capacity?”
”What do you mean?”
”As a roomie, as a friend or as a partner.”

”Why do you ask-” Morgan took a breath. ”I mean…. In the biblical sense.”
”I don’t think that term fits this situation….”
”You know what I mean.”
”For how long?”
”What do you mean?”
”You said `little bit longer`, how long is that?”
”I don’t know! It’s a figure of speech! I asked you to move in with me
and you ask me `for how long`….”
”You asked me to move in?”
”Yes!”

”Why didn’t you just say so? You can’t expect me to always interpret correctly if
you give me questions that are open to several interpretations.”
”How can you interpret that differently?”
”Very easily. Little bit longer does imply to arrangement of a temporary nature.”

”I tried to ease my way to the point.” Morgan shooed the waitress of the diner
to go away with her coffeepot.

”So you want me to stay? Like….. All the time?”

”Yeah, you already spend most of your spare time there, so it’s not even a big
change. And you wouldn’t need to pay rent anymore.”
”I guess…. What about work?”
”We’re both equal in position, we both wok for the same guy, so I don’t see
a problem.”
”Are you going to tell them?”
”It`s pretty hard to avoid, isn’t it?” Morgan tilted his head to the side. ”You
don’t seem very excited.”

”I am. Honestly, I am. I just haven’t been living with anyone.”

”Me neither. So what? You practically live with me already. And speaking of
rent… you could pay me in services….” Morgan leered.
”That`s… are you…. That wasn’t funny.”
”Your reaction was, and I like to see pretty boys blush.”
”Why did you use plural?”
”What?”
”Boys. Plural. How many pretty boys have you had?”
”Hmmmmm….. Define Pretty Boy?” Morgan tried to avoid the question.

”Pretty is a synonym for attractive, beauteous, beautiful, becoming, captivating,
charming, comely, cute, enchanting, engaging, fair, fairly, fetching, fine, good-
looking, graceful, handsome, lovely, moderately, nice, picturesque, pleasing,
quite, rather, reasonably, scenic, somewhat, and winning. Boy is term used
mainly to indicate biological sex distinctions, distinctions of cultural gender
role or both. How many?”

”Not that many! Really.”
”You didn’t answer.”
”Few. But you’re the prettiest.”

”Are you trying to whittle yourself out of this?”
”Partly….”
”Fine, we can leave that topic.”

”Thanks.”
”But we’ll get back to that later. When are you going to start?”
”Start what?”
”Moving my stuff.”
”How bout over the weekend?”
”Sounds good. How’s your back?”
”My back is fine, why do you want to know?”

”Because you’ll have to carry my coffee table, my left hand’s still useless.”
”You wanna bring that thing with you?”
”Yes, and considering how much rent I’ve paid in advance, you better go
along with it.”
”What do you mean…. Oh.” Morgan thought about it. ”I’ll need a deposit
before you move in.”
”Here in the diner?”
”When we get back home.”

”Sounds fair.” Reid agreed and waved the waiter closer. ”But you’re
paying for my pancakes.”
