Chapter 1 When Reid came back from his trip to the bathroom, J.J. and Prentiss were
staring at the closed door of Hotch`s office.
“Something wrong?” He looked at their serious faces.
“Morgan’s in there.” J.J. explained.
“And?”
Something heavy was slammed against the window and they could briefly see
the back of a man through the shutters.
“And I think they are trying to kill each other.”
Right then the door was opened and Morgan stormed out. He grabbed Reid by
his arm and started pulling him out of the bullpen.
“What are you doing?”
“We’re going.”
“Where?”
“Home.”
“Now?”
“I’ll explain when we get there.” Morgan took Reid’s bag from his desk and
pulled the genius to the elevators. Few minutes later Hotch came out of his
office, looking like he had been mauled by a bear. He walked past the two
women.
“Don’t you have anything useful to do?” He walked out.
“What the hell was that?” J.J. marvelled.
“Overload of testosterone?” Prentiss suggested. “Think what it would be like
if Reid had that defect too…. We would four of those skulking around here.”
------------------------------------------
Reid sat on the couch with his hands tapping nervously against his knees.
“No, no, no, no, no.”
“Yes.” Morgan countered.
“That… that has to be some kind of a mistake.”
“Yeah, his mistake. Babe, I saw that movie running on his laptop, there’s
not that many explanations for that.”
Reid leaned forth and buried his face against his legs. “You mean…. Do
you realise what that means?”
“Yeah.”
“He saw me…. and you…. and when we….and then-”
“I know what was on it, and it wasn’t a kids film. Can we move on to the
next point?”
“How did he get that? I mean….” Then the realisation dawned on Reid.
“When he returned that disc he took by accident. He made a copy.”
“That’s what I thought.” Morgan agreed. “What are we gonna do about this?”
“I….I don’t know.”
“We’re gonna have to see him when we go to work tomorrow, so we gotta
decide.Do you wanna make a formal complain?”
“No! I mean…. That would mean speading the whole film wider than it already
has, and…. it’s Hotch. I don’t want anything bad for him.”
“Me neither, but we have to settle this somehow.”
“I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to the office tomorrow.” Reid got up
from the couch. “I’ll call them I’m sick.”
“They’re not gonna believe it after today.”
“I’m really sick! Or at least I’m feeling sick…. Tell them I have H5N1.”
“Babe, you don’t have the avian influenza.”
“Well, then…. H1N1.”
“Or the swine influenza.”
“Spanish flu? Remember what happened in 1918? I can’t go to the office or
I’ll kill everyone.”
“You’re not sick!”
“Touch my forehead, I’m already hot and sweaty.”
“That’s because you keep pacing back and forth.”
“I can’t go there, he’s seen me-” Reid paused his sentence to gasp for air.
“He’s seen mine too!”
“I can’t…. I can’t go there.” Reid grabbed a bottle of cold syrup from the cup-
board stated drinking it straight from the bottle.
------------------------------------------
Hoch opened his front door let Morgan in.
“How is he?”
“What do you think? He’s so panicking he’s claiming he has rubeola, and he’ll
kill the whole office. He’s awkward enough with his clothes on, and now his boss
is watching him naked, doing the big-and-sweaty with another federal agent.”
He followed Hotch to the living room. Hotch pulled out a bottle of scotch and
two glasses. “Did you know it was Irish tradition to have a hefty drink after
a fight?”
“Did you know you’re sound like Reid right now?”
“Sounds appropriate.” Hotch took a sip from his glass and handed the other
one to Morgan. “How’s your jaw?”
“Sore. Your eye?”
“As black as it looks like.” He took a disc from his briefcase and gave it to
Morgan. “That’s the only copy.
“I still don’t get it. Why did you even make a copy of it?”
“I’m not sure.” Hotch sank into an overstuffed armchair. “I got this urge and
I still don’t know how to get rid of it.”
“So you made a copy of our movie so you could play one-player game with a
Joystick.”
“We’re all interpreting human behaviours for living and that’s the expression
you come up with?”
“I’m off duty.” Morgan shrugged, but he couldn’t help grinning.
“Can you tell Reid something?”
“What?”
“I didn’t mean to upset him. I care about him way too much to do that on purpose.”
“I know.”
“You do?”
“What am I, blind?”
------------------------------------------
For the second time that day Reid was staring at Morgan with his mouth open.
“He asked if we would….”
“Yep.”
“Tell me you said no.”
“I did say no. The whole idea’s really not that hot, but I promised I would ask you.
If you want to do it, then I’m with you. But I kinda hope you don’t.”
