Morgan poured filled two mugs with coffee and headed upstairs. It was a Saturday morning and all the new cases during the weekend would go to another teams. He had a steadfast intention to stay in bed the afternoon. He stepped in the bedroom and chuckled. Reid had covered himself completely with blankets and the only part of him that was visible, was a line of toes sticking out from under the covers.
Morgan placed the mugs on the nightstand and approached the toes. He planted a kiss on the big toe, and moved on upwards, sneaking under the covers. He knew full well when Reid would finally wake up. He grinned and kissed the genius’s left nipple. The reaction was exactly what he had expected. Reid leaped up with a surprised yelp.
“Morgan! I’ve told not to do that when I’m asleep!”
“Hey, you were there!”
“I’m Mount Everest now? I’m here so you have to mount me?”
“That’s a really nice expression.” Morgan grinned. “And we can do that later.”
“I’m not saying anything before coffee.” Reid groaned and stretched his hands above his head.
“I know.” Morgan pointed to the nightstand. “And while you`re drinking that I got a guestion for you.”
“What?”
“About that conversation last night.”
“Conversation?”
“The one that ended when I remembered we had a new can of whipped cream in the fridge.”
“I remember….” Reid smirked. “What about it?”
“You never told me the real number.” Morgan said.
“What number?”
“Previous men.”
“Well…. You’ve met two of them. Chad and agent Adams.”
“You slept with the guy and you still call him by his title?”
“It was just like it is with you, I can’t think of you as Derek. It’s Morgan. When we met he was agent Adams and that name stuck. And he liked to call me Doctor when we were alone.”
“Okay, that’s two. Who else?”
“Mark.”
“Right. That’s it?”
“How many guys did you think I’ve been with?”
“Pretty Boy…..”
“Just because I agreed to do that thing for you last night, you can’t assume I’m easy!”
“I don’t! You made me beg for that, so you’re definitely not easy.”
“Thanks. What about you?”
“Am I easy?”
“I already know you are, but how many men have you had?”
“You mean….”
“Yeah, that doesn’t count.” Reid added seriously.
“Two. Both when I was a cop. Little fondling and groping, nothing heavy.”
“Okay. And women?”
“Babe….”
“How many?”
“Well….”
“Fine.” Reid sighed. “How many digits?”
“Two.”
“What’s the first digit?”
“….. three….” Morgan answered carefully.
“I see…..” Reid took a long calming breath. “I know it is common for males to emphasise their virility in hopes of impressing future mating partners. It is a perfectly natural response to the demands of procreation.” Reid paused. “More than thirty!”
“You said it was perfectly natural!”
“For a chimp or a porcupine or even cavemen who lived in small tribes, but that was to ensure the survival of the tribe and in the big picture the survival the whole specie. Doing that for the fun of it is…..” For once Reid seemed lost for words.
“Flighty?” Morgan suggested carefully.
“That doesn’t even cover the whole thing.” Reid paused, like he had just figured out something. He leaped up the bed and marched to the spare room, that Morgan now used as an office. He started rummaging through the desk drawer.
Morgan followed him to the room.
“What are you doing?”
“I’ve seen it here somewhere, I can’t believe I didn’t realise it before….” Reid grunted.
“You’ve seen what somewhere?”
"A-ha!" Reid exclaimed and pulled out a small notebook from the drawer. “This.”
“Oh that…..”
Reid browsed through couple pages and his face turned red. “I was right.”
“Pretty boy-”
“Annette. Current status: Living in Miami. Phone number-”
“Please, just stop that.”
“Judy. Current status: Maternity leave. Separated from the daddy, say hello when visiting Seattle and check the baby weight.”
“I know this sounds bad, but-”
“This doesn’t sound bad, this sounds disgusting. And why exactly are you still keeping this…. thing in your drawer?”
“There’s a lot of nice memories attached to that!”
“And judging by the amount of them, several of those memories required medical attention.”
“Wow….. That was pretty harsh. It’s not like I’ve been calling them!”
“Then why do you keep their contact information?”
“For sentimental reasons!”
“Fine. I got work to do.”
“We don’t have a case!”
“That doesn’t mean I don’t have other things to do. I do have other interests besides work, although mine are things you can talk about in the daylight without blushing.”
“Pretty Boy, you’re blowing this out of all proportions.” Morgan tried soothingly. “We got the whole weekend to ourselves, we can relax and have some one-on-one time-”
“You want company?” Reid tossed the notebook to his direction and hit him on the chest. “Pick a number.”
Reid walked back into the bedroom and slammed the door shut.
