So I've finally started working on a kilt. I had originally picked up the pattern from Folkware but was having trouble making sense of the instructions.
Oh, I am so looking forward to seeing it! I LOVE kilts, but after doing some online research, I was a bit intimidated by them (they just aren't something you can half-ass and respect, ya know?). And every pattern I've seen just seems... I dunno, but not something I'd try.
And now you've given me another book to purchase in the very near future. :) I've wanted to make a kilt for years, but they aren't an easy project.
I'll be honest and comment that I'm surprised Mijan isn't asking for the kilt to be Star-Trekked-out in some way. Beautiful tartan pattern, though. Any personal significance?

Mijan's maternal side of the family is entirely from Nova Scotia. Also, Star Trek kilts have already been discussed. We were debating the relative merits of tribble vs tricorder for a sporran. Either way, there'd be an insignia pin for the kilt pin.
Ah, so Star Trek willbe incorporated somehow. :) And the family history is awesome (I'm a mixed mutt, so I'm always a bit fascinated and jealous of people's epic family lineages).
I vote for a tricorder sporran (a tribble may just look like a "no shaving" statement).

Is it at all accurate according to the book you have? Some of the info just didn't seem presented right.
