making a kilt sounded like a fabulous idea at the time...

I've come to the conclusion that sewing down pleats is perhaps the most tedious thing I've ever done. May spend tomorrow watching paint dry so I can properly call it the most tedious task in existence. I just keep trying to remind myself how much ironing I'm getting out of.

You know, I actually can't remember what I picked up. 100% cotton something or another. Not denim, though it's woven quite like it. I think the really tedious part is that I'm sewing the visible edge of the pleats last and that means trying to wedge the whole thing up under the pressure foot in all it's glorious 6 layers where I had hand sewn down the fells. The bulk means that about one in four with get a wonky pull to the fabric and make the line off. But yeah, no ironing ever again is a pretty strong incentive.

Well, I've only ever done tiny bits of pleats, and even that tried my patience. Good luck getting them all!

Pics when you feel sufficient progress has been made? :)
