I was always at work when either M or my bff saw it, and after that, I just never got around to it. I don't see a lot of movies in the theater, anyway. Maybe one or two per year. And I've read all of the books, Hobbit and Simarillion included, so being all long and detail-rich is what I'm wanting. I don't doubt that I'll love the movie, I just need to get around to seeing it. The Hobbit is not the same story as LotR, and I wouldn't want it to be.

Might work better that way then killpurakat January 8 2013, 21:37:20 UTC
There's a few sweeping scenes that were hard to watch in the theater because the screen was so big, so itmay be best to wait for the DVD (and be able to pause it to go to the bathroom; that last half-hour after I finished my drink was a bit hard for me to sit through).

Oh, and in case it wasn't obvious, I wasn't talking to you in my rant up there, but to the people who seem to be giving the movie negative reviews that I just don't get. Really, the details this movie goes into and explores are just phenomenal for those of us who like to go beyond the story. :) If the movie comes out on DVD around CC31, maybe I'll buy it and we can have a little movie night at the hotel.

Yea! Lots of fun stuff lined up. Have fun! Use the excitement to motivate you through the velvet quilting project (which is seriously awesome).

It's actually coming together better than I thought it would. I was really worried about bulk seams and pieces not matching up, but the different sized/shaped pieces are masking any small not-matching-up bits with the busy.
