You know, I bought the jumper as first project, simply because it was Sherlock. Any normal person couldn't start with a jumper, yeah. But Sherlock's not normal and I think that the author addressed his unusual approach well. He did his test swatch and he screwed up, but Sherlock would have a singular focus that could have made such a project possible.
Fi's right though about the sweater. No, a *rational* person would never attempt (and succeed with) a sweater as a first project. But Sherlock is nothing approaching rational.

International mail times are utterly random. My parents sent a package that arrived in a *week*. Stuff coming from China usually takes two weeks.
Maybe I need to start making offerings to the postal gods...
