So, I'm totally one of those horrible sewers that brings food and drink into the craft room. And I've had enough oppses that you think I'd have learned my lesson by now. Such as the time I tipped over a full cup of coffee all over the sewing desk and into the open sided storage drawers next to it. But the only real casualty from that incident ( Read more... )

sewing, ranom, costuming

Crazy. Somewhere I learned that the big tomato was for pins and the little one is for needles so you can't lose them. And if you ever need more hand sewing needles, I will give you some. I inherited hundreds (literally) from my MiL, and am not sure how I will use them all in this lifetime.

Had this happen to me a few times. I try to keep threads on the ends so I can pull the needles out when they disappear, but... well, best laid plans and all that. :P

I can do you one better. I've actually lost pins inside my tomato. I buy beady pins (you know, with the the big beads glued on the ends), but I'm so rough with them the beady parts will pop off and then... bye, bye pins! ^^;;;

So... now that you've recovered all those needles... what are you going to make next? :)

Yeah, I know mine is like that. I too leave thread in the needle but then it just gets all tangled and I get pissed off and cut them off.

I've also managed to get pins inside my denim work bag, as in between the denim exterior and the linen lining. No clue how they got there. I just stabbed myself with one today.

And I hesitate to think how man pins and needless are buried in this sewing room carpet. I hate carpeting in a sewing room but in a rental, what're ya gonna do, right?
