The problem with that is that Larson has a track record already. EqG doesn't. If Larson were going to write for EqG then that would be a different matter!
I'll give EqG a chance, since that's only fair. But "[Twilight's] biggest challenge yet... high school" is about the most off-putting promotional line I could have seen. It's starting from a much lower base than FiM did.
Hmm, you have a fair point about the creative team. I have seen the trailer, and it's not as terrible as those initial pictures suggested. It could be quite good. But I generally hate high-school cartoons, even when they're well made. (I think the last one I actually liked was Galaxy High!) It's actually a significant attraction of FiM for me that it doesn't have high school/college storylines.
As I say, though, I'll give EqG a chance (if I can get hold of it); I can't fairly say "This is horrible" without seeing it.
Just seen the trailer a minute ago, and it looks horrendous. I'm not going to go spouting off on various forums and things, but I have no motivation to go watch it either. My gut feeling is that's Hasbro's attempt to appeal to young viewers while shaking off the unwanted adult crowd. I just can't think of any other reason to mash up two utterly different genres (cartoon high school drama, awesome) while claiming it's to appeal to an "older" audience. I think any older audience who didn't already like MLP would find that patronising. No, I think their motivation is quite the opposite. I defiantly smell some sort of corporate directive from a board of fusty talentless suits. Anyway, it's MLP largely without the P. I'm out!

The I trust in M A Larson was more a memetic throwback to everyone saying magical mystery cure would be the worst thing ever before seeing it.
