I've always felt that the naughts were important to recognize somehow, not always with great fanfare, (let's face it I celebrate every birthday with great fanfare anyway) but with something. When I turned twenty I had a "kids" party with cake, ice cream, hot dogs, balloons, pin the tail on the donkey, that sort of thing. My parents hosted it and ( Read more... )

The area where we are moving too has a pipe and drum band. They also offer free lessons. I am thinking about trying it. Bagpipes!

DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! I mean, c'mon, what cooler than a piper? Ok, a Rock Star. Maybe. But other than that.

I've considered learning bagpipes for years but haven't gone any further. This birthday year, I've decided to learn ukelele. Have the instrument. Now just need the time to actually practice.

Very cool. I just sent my great-nephew his first musical instrument, a child's ukelele.

The nights running up to Christmas in Wolverhampton pubs were marked by the Salvation Army collections ... with bagpipes! Very effective as lots of people were happy to pay them to go away. Not an instrument for entertaining indoors!

Now THAT is a great way to toot one's own horn (er, bagpipe)!

My plantar faciitis was brought on by (in no particular order):
age
Shortening of my hamstrings
too much salt (swelling)

So I started taking in less salt, drinking far more water (it's a diuretic, believe it or not) and yoga stretches. I think your tai chi will do the same thing. So clearly you are on the path to success.

Oh, and you are going to have AMAZING breath control! And you clearly need to start a band if a few years, like Stephen King! Er, but different. :)

If I could remember to do my stretches, it would help. Mine was initialy brought on by wearing someone elses second hand steel toed boots. Then I put on a bunch of weight and my arches fell. I also have genetically tight calves that pull up my heels. Leg cramps are a four genration problem.

I'm looking forward to the breath control. right now its. G, A, B, C, D.... ohcrapIcan'trememberhowtodoanE...gasp!
