It looks so eerie and scary! I hope you were OK, fire is just so destructive!!
It was "only" 38C in Sydney yesterday and my AC is holding up, it was relatively pleasant, but another scorcher today is predicted.
*hugs*

Thankfully it's only 24C here today and it's going to be cooler all week - I've had enough of this summer!

I was thinking about you as I watched the news this morning and hoping that you weren't in the way of anything bad. That smoke looks close. Are you all doing okay?

The smoke in the first pics was from a fire that started in Churchill which is about 20 km SW of us, as the wind was blowing NW most of the day it didn't affect us but we also got smoke from fire in the west and north of us - at one stage we could see smoke in all directions - it was very much a feeling of being surrounded!

This must have been so frightening. I just hope that everything will be OK.

It was very freaky! We can see Loy Yang power station from our back fence and at one stage the fire looked to be heading for it, which was pretty scary.

As for okay, there are already reports of 9 dead in Gippsland and up to 40 in Victoria, plus all the live stock and wild life - the reports from the CFA were saying the fire to the south of us was the fastest moving they'd ever seen.

it's shocking especially when you think of the loss of life and that some of the fires were deliberately lit.
