What was I supposed to do?

It rained today. All day. While I was delivering my postal route, a kitten came up to me and meowed. This is not an uncommon occurrence. Cats come up to me all the time hoping I will let them into their houses. I look down at them, inform them that I can't let them in, and continue on my way. This one followed me to the next house. And the next.

Cats have their own ideas of who and where their family is. Take it as a good sign that the kitten thought highly of you.

We really cannot afford a third cat right now. D is supposed to be my voice of reason and keep me from getting a new cat, not the one who calls me to come pick up a fuzzball in the rain.
