FurCon Report.
Soo here is a summary of my San Jose and FurCon Experience:
As this was my first time to San Jose and FurCon I arrived there not knowing what to expect. From day one I was not disappointed. After collecting my luggage I found the bus that takes you from the airport to one of the light rail stops. Now as I got to the platform I quickly realized that any southbound light rail train would take me to the stop near the Fairmont. However three young ladies that were traveling to the Fairmont as well did not. So they asked me if I knew which stop to get off and told them yes as I was going to the Fairmont as well. So all of us board the next approaching train and then head to the Fairmont. After checking in I just relaxed in my room for a while then went to get some dinner.
As Tuesday was a cold rainy day I just stayed in the area and visited some museums. Went to the Technology museum and also saw the Human Experience that was temporarily set up at the Tech museum. Then went to the art museum next to the Fairmont and finished the day up by seeing HP 7 in IMAX.
Wednesday I was able to rent a car early afternoon and drove up to the Lick Observatory. What an interesting drive that was since some parts of the lanes were no wider than a parking stall at a mall and it gave another meaning to hair pin turns. The observatory is not far from down town San Jose, however because the road is so windy it takes about an hour just to get there. After touring around I drove back and decided to make a stop at a near by winery. After tasting several of their wines I bought a bottle of the last red I tasted. Drove back to the hotel and then met up with Raider. After we ate dinner both of us went to my room and I changed into Okwaho. Then we went back down stairs and wondered around outside with Raider as my handler. We walked by some outdoor seating for one of the Fairmont restaurants and came across three ladies sitting at a table who were eating sushi and drinking dirty martinis. One of them definitely had a couple prior to our arrival and freaked out when I started talking. Something like fuck me he talks. I knew you could talk but not like that. Of course I am laughing my ass off when she said this. After talking with them we continued on and turned a corner to walk along the front side of the hotel. There is a window on the front side of the hotel that people sitting at the bar in The Grill can look out on to the side walk we were on. So as we passed by the window the patrons started banging on the glass to get my attention so they could take photos. So I stopped and looked in and some pictures were taken. However I decided to make a visit into the bar. So Raider and I walked back into the hotel and entered The Grill. The faces on the people sitting at tables we passed were priceless. As we got to the bar area people started gathering all around me and wanted pictures. Once they got it out of their system we walked out of the bar area to get back into the hotel and now people at the tables got up and wanted pictures. So being a suiter I couldn't say no to the cameras :). From the restaurant Raider and I went to his room so he could get into suit. While up there he text Baccala30 and he came up to the room in his suit "Anthony". All three of us then went back down stairs and hung around the lobby area taking having our pictures taken with both furries and non-furries. While down there we also met up with DiegoWolfFox.
Thursday my roommates finally arrived: Eris Valgen, Faye, Grim and Drakesapphire. After they got settled in we went to Pre-Reg to get our badges and then grabbed a bite to eat. After eating we suited up and as PB Bunny I went skating with Faye at the outdoor ice skating rink that was right next to the Fairmont. Out there as well were Furball2k, Splitpaw, Brawl, Dustykat, Keyomi and Evan. The rink crew had all of us suiters get together in the center of the rink so the entire crew could have their picture taken with us http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5090377
Rest of the con was going to panels and suiting up as PB Bunny and Okwaho. Also went out to dinner with my roommates, Raider, Bradhound, Dog Bomb and his friends Friday night. Saturday and Sunday I did more ice skating as PB Bunny.
I do plan on returning to FurCon down the road.
