Time

Have been thinking a lot about the past and the passage of time for the last few days. My Sam weekend wasn't as whimsical and charming as the last one, but was still good fun in a more low-key, grown-up way. Some accounts put this as my tenth year, which feels like it deserves some marking ( Read more... )

Absolutely, I'm terribly important at the moment, people look up to me and feel intimidated and all that kind of stuff. It's quite unnerving.

But... I mean... I've known you for about 10 years. And I reckoned that when we met you had ALREADY been doing Sam stuff forever. I feel a bit deceived!

Hmm... I'm pretty sure I'd been doing it for a year or so when we started talking more in Brum. I think I started in the middle of my second year.

And I'd done Niteline for a couple of years before that. Maybe I was quite secretive and unspecific about the whole thing...

In other 'passage of time' news: I shuttle between thinking I've been in Cardiff too long, I need a change, and being struck by how Not-settled I am here.

Well today a little reminder that I do have some kind of history here; walked into a talk to see Andy, a guy I used to hang out with ages ago, protesting about the Iraq war, sitting across the room from me. We chatted in the break and agreed we should meet up soon. Which is cool.
