Yeah! Another person has read it! My family's problem was they watched the movie and so they just read the second and third book. I went and read the first one and I was so happy-go-lucky about the profoundness and themes and whatnot but no one wanted to share my joy (plus there's a glossary; I love it when there's a glossary! And the words are actually pretty much Arabic so far as my limited knowledge can tell.)
I liked the first three afterward, but after that some of them got kinda slow because Dune sort of becomes a lifeless ball of dust and whatnot. Some parts are still good though and it's neat for getting all the back story.
Did you ever see the Sci-fi Channel's movies? Watch with care. Sci-Fi Channel tends to push the limits of decency and probably puts in more than Mr. Herbert ever wanted on the set, but over all they kept to the books better than the first movie, which missed half the themes entirely...

In all seriousness, cool stuff. Now the only question is: was Paul justified?

But I'm in the process of reading The Watchmen, so I feel like my nerd points are sufficiently had.
