It occurred to me the other night, too. That I... am on my own. I am the one who tells myself how late I can stay out, or if I can spend the night in my boyfriend's dorm. I'm the one who decides if I eat or not (though Frances and MaryDoll would argue that point with me).
I still feel like I'm in high school. I spend copious amounts of time on teh interbutts, I work, I go to class, I eat, I watch television, I sleep.
But I'm also buying groceries for myself (something I did rarely at home), and I'm also mother-henning other freshmen who have never been on their own before. Turns out I have lots of experience living on my own, at least where doctors, prescriptions, food, and sleep comes along.
Her friend was having roommate issues, but didn't want to live alone, so they decided to move in together. *shrug* That is 5 roommate-less weeks for me, so yeah.
Yeah. I haven't so much had that hit me as had little moments of random things like, "My God, I used to get in trouble for not calling my mom when I went out as it was ... what's going to happen when I'm at home and it doesn't even occur to me that I need to keep her informed?"
