Thank you for this story, so much.

My father died this past September, a week before Grilled Cheesus aired on TV. I still haven't watched that episode in full, stopping after 'I Want To Hold Your Hand.' The 6 month anniversary of his death is tomorrow, and I sort of braced myself for tears when I clicked on the link for this fic. I wasn't disappointed.

Thank you.

I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to scream at the people who tell me that "Everything happens for a reason" or "I'm sorry," and you beautifully captured all the emotions that come with the death of a parent. There's a suppression of feelings that comes with it, and I'm personally still trying to work through the pain and frustration of wondering why.

I have tears running down my face right now - from your story and from memories - and all of these gorgeously written words hit a little too close for home, but I feel the need to thank you over and over for putting everything so beautifully.

speaking -sadly- from experience, too, I know how people can make things worse - they do it involutarily and out of love I'm sure, but it tends to make matters much more horrible. I hated hearing the generic lines coming from distant relatives when my brother died. Mostly because their lives would go back to normal after they leave, but you're left there being a mess until you manage to pick yourself up somehow. If you are lucky, there's someone who understands and gives you the space, the time- whatever you need to deal ( ... )

Please don't be sorry. I can completely relate to everything that you're saying, and I know exactly where Kurt was coming from in this story. I had been away for college, and we had already arranged for me to spend the summer of 2010 in England when we found out that the cancer had returned, and as guilty as I felt not being home, I knew I would have felt even guiltier wasting that money on a trip I didn't go on. My father wanted me to, and that was before we knew the cancer had spread ( ... )

(no need to be sorry, you are talking to the queen of rambling:/ I just limit myself to a minimum since my comments are not beta'ed and I always worry I say the wrong things (not a native, you see)

your dad sounds like an amazing person; he wanted you to live your life and be happy and not worry about him all the time. I don't think there's a right choice in this situation; everything you do leaves you guilty, like you could have done more, or you could have been together longer. There's no right time to say goodbye, I think. (gosh, I sound like a bad greeting card)

your 'Blaine' sounds amazing and I'm glad he was there for you. I'm also glad you think that my little fic helped in some way. ♥
