I finally get my laptop computer back (YAY!!!) after almost five and a half weeks without it and THEN I find I can't access the internet! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
( Read more... )
Guessing: I can think of two things it may be: 1) Check on your laptop for a slide switch with the wireless antenna next to it. This switch will turn the wireless on and off. If you have it, slide it to the ON position and you should get your wireless connection back.
If that doesnt work:
2) on the keypad, look at the F-keys. One may have what looks like an antenna broadcasting a signal. (it may be on another key somewhere other than a number, but on my computer its on the F2 key. Look for a Function Key.. it may be a blue "Fn". Hold down the FN key and press the F2 key (function key and antenna key) and it should turn the wireless on.
3) Look at the documentation you have under the wireless section and see what it says about turning the wireless on and off. (it MAY be under "flight mode" )
Great I'll go grab my computer right now and try it with your instructions in front of me ... however I can't remember any slide switch ... if only it could be that simple. BRB with some results ...
Most laptops have a little switch on the side that disables all wireless activity. Look around the front and sides of your machine to find a mysterious switch, possibly with a picture of a radiating antenna on it kind of like this:

Switch it on, and see if your wireless corrects itself. If not, reply to this and I'll see about doing some other stuff involving a driver upgrade, which will basically require that I send you a file that you need to open on your laptop.
