Last night was awesome from start to finish. Got here with plenty of time to find accomodation, and the backpackers i ended up at (purely by cooincidence) is about 3 minutes walk from where i needed to be for the gig. Got gussied up and put on my corset and went to a nearby pub to wait for the living room (gigs location) to open

Sounds like you've had quite a ball. I'm really glad you just went fuck it and bought the tickets! It's so liberating to go somewhere or get away and just be free of everything, and just be in the moment. Good on you!
