the doldrums

It would be the worst way to go-- to be stuck in the doldrums. Imagine being out to sea on an old old wooden ship (named Diversity perhaps) and the wind stops. You can only wait and wait and wait for the wind to pick up. But it doesn't for days, maybe even weeks. You're running out of fresh water and food. I'm ridiculously afraid of drinking sea water. I actually list it among my fears and did so before I'd ever been to the ocean. I've been concerned for years that someone would replace my normal drinking water with sea water. This was, of course, before I realized that I'd be able to taste the difference if I hadn't gone crazy yet.

Also, I had no idea altitude sickness existed. I suppose this is another irrational fear in the making. I never go to places that are high(Except on ladders?), but now I'm gonna get nightmares about being kidnapped and taken to an exact replica of my life only it's on a mountain peak somewhere and I die of altitude sickness though I have no idea that's what it is.

I don't blame you for my nightmares. You can't help it if you talk about terrifying things.

Love from Arkansas.

You just feel dizzy and sick like. Usually it isn't so bad. All you need is extra water.

I guess my advice is, don't worry about it.

ps. I've been to Arkansas a few times when we boat over the border from Missouri. The water seems dirtier, but I think it's because it's shallower than the lake we came from. Sometimes we eat ice cream there.

Well, I guess Ice Cream is good anywhere. My only problem with AR is that my phone works NOWHERE. It's mostly alright, though. I'm 3 weeks from freedom, my dear! hooray!
