Fic Examples:
LJ-archived fiction in my memories or at my website
Dreaming Sideways Fandoms I'm able to write in: These are the fandoms that I know enough about to feel comfortable writing most, if not all, of the characters in. I know it's a pretty small list--guess I'm just focused! (or waaaaay too selectively obsessive *g*)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Firefly/Serenity
The Sentinel
Limitations: My better-written fics lean toward the angst-y and slash-y. Humor, when it manages to pop in, tends to be accidental on my part. A quick look through my fic indicates that the most often recurring pairing is Xander/Spike, though Giles and Wes show up often in varied pairings as well--these are the guys the stories come most easily for. That's definitely not to say we couldn't agree on a request for others, but you might want to try before you buy and peek at what I've written in the past as an indicator of what you might end up getting. *g* Outside the WhedonVerse, the only pairing I've written is Jim/Blair, but I know the canon 'verse well and I've read extensively, so no problem with a request there. Oh, and cross-over requests for any/all of these shows are definitely an option.
Thoughts on Donations: Hmmm, having never offered this kind of fic before--and believing more in the charitable hearts of fandom than the monetary worth of my fic--I'm gonna borrow from
wesleysgirl's post below as a guide and go with $10 per 1,000 words for fics up to 5,000 words.
Estimates of time to provide service: I'm setting a goal of 1 week per 1,000 words--slow, but less likely to have me blowing deadlines all over the place. So length of fic will help determine time till delivery--also taking into consideration time-tables in case there's more than one request I'm writing for. But even if deadlines slip--and if they do, notice will be given to renegotiate delivery dates--the final product will be delivered. This kind of sharing and taking care of one another is too important not to take the task seriously.
