I am quite seriously about 2 strikes away from quitting this job... I am sick of getting shafted over and over again, I really am. This new co-worker of mine, the one that was hired to replace me when I left before, is just getting on my nerves every day, to the point where when he called in sick today, I cheered. :P I can't make it to anything

I've been talking with a friend of mine that is a pizza delivery guy, and the tips might boost your wage, but the overhead for your car eats all that up. so he says its really not worth it

It may depend on where you work. I have a coworker that also does pizza delivery, for Athenas. He says that on somenights, 5 hours of works gets him as much as we make in a 10 hour day at Budget. $40 wage, then $50 tip.
And you gotta wonder what kinda car your friend has, right? *shrugs*

The question is, what does he make on the other days.

I've heard plenty of bad stuff about pizza delivery, from local and online friends. A lot of it has to do with luck, apparently. If you get double/triple runs all night, all close enough, and with people who tip well, it's good. But then you get some ridiculously far, on some unmarked street at a place that's actually hidden behind another building, and waste half an hour trying to find it, and end up with bitchy customers that leave only a few cents of tip.

And there's also days where just plain nobody orders. And depending on the place, sometime older delivery people do get to pick the best orders, and the new guy gets what's left there.

About the car, you have to take in consideration that insurances usually go up if you work a job like that, and sometime you almost have no choice but to drive fast and waste gas.
