That's quite a bit of news to throw at an old wolf. You and Harry are both adults and if anyone has a chance of effecting change in this world, it certainly does not seem to be me.
You may think he's being a prat, but Percy does have a point. I don't think it was my welfare he was concerned about, either. Neither myself, nor Severus, nor any connected with us, are particular favorites of the Ministry right now. By speaking out this way, you stand a chance of inheriting that reputation and derision in society.
I won't try to sway your minds against this, but I would urge you to caution.
As to seeing each other more often, with term ending tomorrow, I'll have nothing but time for a couple months. I want to spend some time at home with Severus and the pack first off, but, perhaps after the Full, this old wolf might be able to take a pretty little nurse to lunch?
I hardly care about being popular. I'm not in grade school, my family seems fairly taken with me, and so doesn't those in yours and Severus' home, for that matter. It's very much a 'those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind' sort of scenario.
We're barely speaking, so you shouldn't worry that we're doing anything irrational being very careful in planning this event. Very thorough.
This plain little girl would very much like the company of an older handsome gentleman. That would be lovely.
It's not about being popular. It's about being safe. You have never had to face walking down a street or into a pub knowing that nine out of ten faces that turn in your direction will glare at you with revulsion at best. You have never had mothers bustle their children to the other side of the road, afraid you might bring them harm by saying 'Good day'. It's all well and good to profess to not caring what others may think of you. But, when it gets bad enough, you still care.
Nor do I want for you to know what that's like.
But, I shall send you word sometime after the Full and make plans for lunch, cheeky wench. Older, handsome gentleman, indeed.
