1. Honestly, when I think of Australian cinema I think of low budgets and dodgy acting. There are a few exceptions though.

2. Muriel's Wedding, Chopper, Romper Stomper, Crocodile Dundee, Strictly Ballroom, Babe, Looking for Alibrandi...

1) Invariably a hit and miss scenario. I love some films, whilst a great percentage of them are steaming piles of poo. I blame a lot of it on all the decent writers defecting to the US for better pay/support etc.

2) Rabbit Proof Fence, Ned Kelly, The Dish, Crackerjack, Kenny, The Castle, Muriels Wedding, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Candy, Gallipoli, Mad Max, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Crocodile Dundee, Romper Stomper, Strictly Ballroom, Shine, Two Hands, Babe, Chopper, Looking for Alibrandi, Lantana, Harvey Krumpet (!!), Somersault, Jindabyne, Romulus My Father... uhhh... heh

2. Wolf creek, Crocodile Dundee movie's, The dish, Mad Max movie's, Muriel's Wedding

3. Although The Castle was a cheap made movie - I think it is semi decent.

There's Paul Hogan, and Yahoo Serious, and Priscilla... oooh! And those Fosters beer commercials.

I always figured you just sent all your good people here.

There was a great article on australian cinema in the Weekend Australian Mag either this week or last week. I shall see if we still have it.

Movies:
Rabbit proof fence
The castle
Wog Boy
Priscilla Queen of the Desert
Romulus my father
Muriels Wedding
Japanese Story (I think it's Aussie...it was set in Aus)
Crackerjack
You and you're stupid mate
The one about the ANZACS storming bathsheba- lighthorsemen??
Gallipolli
Picnic at hanging rock.
The December Boys.
The one with Nathan Black in it that came from the book Deadly Una (but i don't think that was what the movie was called)
Crocodile Dundee

And I have seen all bar 3 of these. I haven't seen Muriels wedding, Picnic at hanging rock and I haven't seen rabbit proof fence.
