First requested tutorial~ For
sarajayechan.
For PSPX, per usual.

1. Soo! This time, our base is Sakura from Card Captor Sakura by CLAMP~
2. Make a new layer. Fill it with #020538 [
]. Set this layer to, surprise surprise, Exclusion, 100%!
3. Duplicate your base, drag to top and go to Adjust -> Hue and Saturation -> Hue/Saturation/Lightness. Set it to Saturation -100, Lightness 0. Set that layer to Soft Light, 100%.
4. Another step, another layer. Make a new one and fill it with #4a2f65 [
], and set it to Screen, 100%.
5. Another layer~ Fill it with #f7f3cd [
]. Set it to Burn, 100%.
6. OH LOOK A TEXTURE
Use this one:
[by
lookslikerain at
icon_topia]. Set it to Overlay, 100%.
7. Remember the desaturated duplicate? Duplicate it and bring it to top. If it's not on Soft Light, 100%, make it be.
8. Texture number two. Use this one:
[by
ianthinae]. Set it to Screen, 100%.
9. ZOMG LOOK A GRADIENT
Use this one:
[either PSP's default OR by
crumblingwalls] and set it to Color (Legacy), 40%.
10. Texture number three. Use this:
[by
noctuidae, I believe] and set it to Overlay, 100%.
11. Now, we can't really see Sakura, can we? To fix it, duplicate your very base, drag it to top and set it to Multiply, 30%.
12. You may say that the icon is finished now. I usually add borders. This time, I used a square brush, because it looked better than Selection borders. I made a new raster layer and drawn a three-pixel border in #fefbf7, and then a one-pixel border in #522837. ... Sorry if you don't understand ^^;
Anyway, the truly finished icon is...!
