I feel so sorry for all the Year 12 kids in New South Wales. Because the HSC begins today, and it is honestly the most horrendous month on anyone's calendar. Why we can't have a system like, say, Queensland is far beyond me. But I guess it isn't so bad if you get about three weeks off right in the middle of the exam period, like I did

I couldn't handle one major exam for two years though, isn't that what HSC is? What happens if you're too sick to do the exam, or something? Then what?

If you can't make it to your exam, guess what? You don't do it. You can't do a make-up exam later - either you sit the exam or you don't. And the HSC is pretty much a series of exams spread over five weeks (late October to mid November) that tests you in every subject you've studied in Year 12. What you learn in Year 11 is 'assumed knowledge'.
