sucked in...

I feel so sorry for all the Year 12 kids in New South Wales. Because the HSC begins today, and it is honestly the most horrendous month on anyone's calendar. Why we can't have a system like, say, Queensland is far beyond me. But I guess it isn't so bad if you get about three weeks off right in the middle of the exam period, like I did ( Read more... )

I am obsessed with Lilo and Stitch! The day after I saw it (the first day it hit theatres), I bought both stuffed animals. I also have keychains, both movies, stickers, etc. hehe

While Queenslands exam system is better than NSW's, it still has it's major faults. Like, if everyone in your grade does badly on the QCS (Queensland Core Skills), your OP (Overall Position) drops hugely. Which sucks when you need a good OP to get into your Uni course. My grade did horribly because all the sport and dance people decided that they didn't need an OP and as a result we did really, really bad.

I couldn't handle one major exam for two years though, isn't that what HSC is? What happens if you're too sick to do the exam, or something? Then what?

If you can't make it to your exam, guess what? You don't do it. You can't do a make-up exam later - either you sit the exam or you don't. And the HSC is pretty much a series of exams spread over five weeks (late October to mid November) that tests you in every subject you've studied in Year 12. What you learn in Year 11 is 'assumed knowledge'.

Holy crap, that's really unfair. Don't you reckon so? I was sick and missed my final exams, but what they did was pretended term 4 didn't exist for me, because I'd been getting the same results all year. If I had been down in NSW I would've failed, just because I was sick. Whoa.
