Wow, that's retarded. Yeah, so this morning I turned on the Today Show and they were interviewing Michael Phelps. Already being sick of hearing about him, I switched to Good Morning America. I ate, made my lunch, 30-40 minutes must have gone by. Then I switched back to the Today show... and they were interviewing Michael Phelps' mom, leading me to believe that they literally were covering nothing but Phelps for like 30-40 min.

I hate commentators for the Olympics in general. If I ever meet Bob Costas, I'm gonna punch him in the face. He's probably not the commentator you're talking about, but I seriously can't stand him. He's why I watch the Canadian channel more than NBC ( ... )

True, I do respect him for what he have accomplicement, it is inspiring and I do agree with you on it is something that we might not get to see again in our lifetime.

But I'm not talking about him as person or how his personality is, I'm talking about how media is milking every single penny out of his accomplishment. but when the description bar under the program says "Michael Phelps Phact..." or "Michael Phelps' Phan-club interview..."

They don't give much credit to what other athele have done because they are too busy talking about Mr.Phelps.

You know what else makes me annoyed at US Olympic broadcasting?

they put US in first in ranking because of how many medals we have, whereas every other countries ranks by counting how many gold, silver, and copper medals they have.

US is the only country who ranks the olympic by that because that's the only way to insure our so called "victory" over other countries.

this is all true, but what else is true is that the commentators say amazing things from time to time, such as:

"all around gymnasts are like chinese pandas: increasingly difficult to find, and just as valuable."

or:

"having your best floor performance at the olympics is like shooting a hole-in-one on a five par: you dream of it your whole life, and it never happens."
