Marvin and the animated Guide scenes were definitely the best thing about H2G2. I liked the movie on the whole, but I hadn't been expecting much. (Also, I'm not sure it's porrible for Zaphod to be *too* over the top. :P)

Haven't seen this particular Guy Ritchie movie, but what you say about plot connection is probably the #1 reason I've enjoyed the movies of his I have watched as much as I did, even though they were not at all my usual cup of tea and I hadn't expected to at first.

I was surprised by how good Pineapple Express was. I didn't expect it to suck, but I didn't expect it to be as awesome as it was. People know what to expect from Seth Rogen and at the end of the day, you either love or hate him, but James Franco obviously surprised a lot of people playing his character and I think it's safe to say that he stole the show. It didn't surprise me at all when he had that bit part in Date Night, given how talented he can be on the comedic side of things. He'll probably get more comedic roles in the future, too, because he was so impressive in this movie.

That was my kind of movie, though. Not because of the stoner thing but because I love comedies with a ton of action in it. Plus, it has Craig Robinson in it who I always enjoy!
