I haven't had much practice at this lately, so I'm sorry I couldn't make it look any better. You can come pick it up whenever is convenient.

If you're sure. [He doesn't come right out and voice his thoughts, but the slight questioning lilt in his tone achieves the same purpose.]

Her voice, still flat and contained, sounds a little strange even to her ears.]
