The Pope's coming to town this weekend and for the past few month's Philadelphia's been preparing, fixing up subway stations and putting up "Watch out for Terrorists!" signs.  I've been preparing in my own way by stocking up on booze, toilet paper and scented candals.  I realized today it's the same way I prepare for a snow storm ( Read more... )

I can't say that I'm jealous, I hate crowds so much. I much rather go out in a blizzard.

I'm not going to be anywhere near the really crowded parts of the city, but I am in the Pope zone (meaning I'll be locked in to one area of the city Friday - Monday). I'm interested to see what happens. They've closed off Center City to cars, so we can walk in the streets. It'll be an interesting weekend.

A Chinese delegation is visiting Seattle the next few days. I thought it was something to see like 20 miles of freeway shut down with cops on every on ramp off ramp and overpass during rush hour. I mean they didn't do that when Obama visited. But the Pope sounds like a whole other level.

Although the Pope is an important part of the equation, the preparations and closings and security checks and stuff are really for the vast vast number of people coming to see the Pope. Will 1.5 million people be flooding Seattle to see the Chinese delegation?

And I kind of get it. If you're a believer, he's a holy man who's pretty much guaranteed to be a saint someday. If it wasn't going to be a crazy mess, I might've popped over to Independence Mall on Saturday to see him for a second.

No, Seattle seems to barely care. Which is part of the weirdness of cops working 3 consecutive 18 hour shifts to do this stuff. Like so much prep, and most of us don't give a fig.

Maybe they're doing it to impress the Chinese

Oh and you know who will stop tagging. I deleted your messages and I just can't make messaging on Tumblr work right now. She shipped them she claims.

Thank you so much. I have a weird sense of ownership of the Tumblr Chlark tag, anything that shouldn't be in there pisses me off.

And yeah, Tumblr messaging is weird. Sometimes I can make it work. Sometimes I can't. Last night it seemed to be working for me.

I'm kind of stupid. That and yes there can be weird rules around the messaging. I would have forwarded her extensive apology, but for the stupid thing.

Not gonna lie. I'm glad I'm coming out after Pope-a-palooza's died down. I get all stressed out when the airport's too busy.

The Popepocalypse actually went really well. It wasn't nearly as bad as people thought it would be. (Although it was kind of strange having the National Guard posted at every intersection and patrolling the streets.) But I didn't go near the airport, so I don't know how that was.

Hi! I was a lurker during my Chlarker days a couple years ago and I remember reading and loving your fics <3

I added you as a friend, hope you don't mind :)

Also I was looking for a fics you wrote (I'm pretty sure it was you) about Chloe being brainwashed to think she was Lena Luthor, I think Lex even taunts Clark about it...

Anyway, sorry for bothering you. Love your work !!

Hello. You're not being a bother.

I have two stories where Chloe is under the impression she's Lena Luthor.

One is A Lost Shadow and can be found here - http://two-of-us.svtometropolis.com/viewstory.php?sid=226&chapter=1

The Other is Loyalties Lie
