Beans, soy, lentils. Start making a lot of chili varieties, maybe with a tiny bit of meat, but at least its chock full of beans.

Or get the Maya Kaimal sauces and make your own curries with beans or lentils and veggies. I usually use a can of garbanzos, some tomatoes, corn, maybe potatoes, carrots, possibly more beans, and whatever else I have around. Tastes fabulous and my carnivore roommate loves them, too.

While I can't have soy, I've heard a lot of good things about the various soy products, some of the ones that taste like meat actually do.

I read this post.. and your others a while back... lavendergrrrl November 28 2011, 04:06:29 UTC
I have found myself caught up in life and not replying. I want you to know that I am reading and that I have quite a bit to say on the subject... having had my gutts rearranged (RNY) 18 months ago.

Feel free to send me a PM on facebook if you are so inclined..I would be happy to answer them to the best of my ability, if you will keep in mind that my answers are solely based on my experiences and your experience will be its own animal.

Love and support to you during this process....

Just reading your and T's posts have been such amazing support. I meet with the surgeon on Thursday which has me excited and terrified as reality sets in that this will likely be the last week of my life when I'll be allowed to eat whatever I want.

But then again the other side of me is truly disgusted at some of my food choices and portion sizes. As I come up with questions, I'll be sure to shoot you a FB message.

Thanks for the support. I'm hoping all is working out well in the new house, though it sounds like there have been lots of mini-crises since y'all moved in preventing you from truly enjoying it.
