I have my mother's diamond from her engagement ring so I just need a setting. I looked at engagement rings at several different stores. ALL engagement rings are White Gold and have about 50 diamonds superglued onto them, so my dreams of a simple gold solitaire were dashed. Then.... I finally found a ring that I liked

D likes it, and likes that it is simple and wholly unlike other people's rings. And that has meant surprisingly a lot to me.

It is interesting how ubiquitous white gold is these days.
