Thanks for that. we currently have it on a box on top of the gas fire. unfortunaty its the only heat supply so we`ve got some polestyrene between its box and the fire top. I keep checking it doesnt seem to be to hot. I bought some ground mealworms and we mixed it with water and brown bread. unfortunatly it wont go up the syringe very easy. I got some small amounts into it. not very much but it pooped twice in the last few hours so it cant be that bad. The first poo looked a bit dry but the second had water in it and solid
( ... )
Its still alive this morning. seems in good health. I just fed it a mixture of canary egg rearing formula mixed with pig suet and mealworms. I blended it all the blender. I dont think that will impress my mother when she gets back, what with it being her blender, but it seemed to impress the chick. I got enough of it down it to make its crop bulge which is a good sign, but the reality is it only ate like 2miligrams, or as much as would fill half a thimble. Pigeons apparently make "crop milk" unlike other birds, the pigeon is capable of producing a milk in its gullet which is the highest fat sustance a baby bird can be fed on, so I hope the addition of suet in my mix was a good idea.
