Oh, I'm so happy to hear this :-) It's a good thing baby birds grow fast.

I didn't realize that you had raised baby birds before. The ground mealworms must be doing him some good! You're probably right as well about a wildlife sanctuary not wanting a pigeon too. Poor little guy!

well its still alive, coming up to night 2, but to be honest, Im not so sure about this one. its crop has not gone down at all, and I can only see that means it isnt digesting food. It was breathing funny earlier to :(

I will continue to hope for the best! Your efforts are to be admired all the same :-)

I nursed a blue jay to health once. It had fallen out of its nest, and was being attacked by other nesting birds (who hate blue jays). An ornithologist gave me some powdered mix that she was using to feed the painted bunting chicks she was studying at the time. I have no clue where you can find that stuff, but she had me grinding up vegetables to the mix all the time. It wasn't until it was a few weeks old that she told me to start using meal worms.

yeah its tricky feeding birds , as their diet depends on what the adults eat. Ill try leaving the meal worms out for now, and blending the eggfood. Eggfood is food for baby canaries for breeding them. I think its egg yolk, bread and calcium
