Progesterone cream can ease your symptoms, but it's a long term solution. It will take awhile to really kick in. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it. There are natural creams out there, made from wild yam extract, so it's natural. A naturopath put me on it about six months after chemo when my energy level started to vary suddenly and considerably. Chemo had put me into temporary menopause, so I was very depleted

Oh, and a follow-up... not all progesterone creams are good. The doc talks about that as well. I used a cream from www.heartlandnatural.com for years, I'm just starting on Emerita's Pro-Gest, which doesn't have wild yam in it at all. The ingredients state USP Progesterone instead. The doc says the wild yam bit is a scam, but that a number of good creams are marketed with it as an ingredient because of factors long ago that made that favorable to the FDA.
Look for creams that are tested and say they have a certain amount of USP Progesterone per oz.
I'm sorry about your cycle. Boy am I sorry. Today felt like someone was sticking an icepick through my lower abdomen. Yay cramps! Not. :-( And no, having a baby did NOT take away all the crazy pms stuff, like my mom promised. I also didn't stop throwing up after 3 months, so, yeah. LIES.
Now on for some advice, and you're going to hate it. Exercise. It really does help. It helps with the irritability, the weight gain, the bloating, the hating, and the outrageous appetite. I think it helps a bit with the cramps, too. If you could do a concerned, rapid walk 40 minutes a day, I bet you'd see a difference. And sadly, general walking around all day for work just isn't the same thing. That used to piss me off when I was a waitress. :-p
I've never heard of that progesterone thing, but it sounds interesting. If you try that and it helps, let me know!
I've been thinking about this and sadly, I've got nothin.
Which pill was it? Maybe the pill with the least amount of hormones (Camilla) would work.
I'd make a lame joke about getting pregnant because then you don't bleed, and since I'm breastfeeding I haven't had a period for over a year, but I think that just wouldn't be productive. . . .

I have to agree with The Lovely Prizm here.
I think those pills/patches are giving you more of something that is already fucking you up. Maybe too much estrogen and not enough progesterone?
I know walking is hard in winter in cold places. Get a treadmill or an eliptical. And maybe a female ob/gyn.
Good luck Sweetie. I completely feel ya with Hormone Hell. :-(

I'll quite happily keep all of it and be damn thankful not be in your shoes at the moment.
I hope that something starts working for you soon....
