The Russian professor with whom I just had a meeting is the Associate Dean. I did not know this until I accidentally interrupted a meeting of hers that went into my appointment time.

Middle college is a pretty but creaky and scary old building. I felt like an elephant.

 Apparently March 25 is a bad date, generally. 25 isn't such a hot number, but this is absurd. If it was just a case of accidental or unknowing miscommunication, or of being confused about what was wanted, I could deal with and understand that, but it was NOT unknowing, and I was the only one confused. My Spanish teacher is great. She's this slightly imposing, elegant woman who is very nice and interesting but seems like she'd be very concerned with being proper and not particularly funny, and just not say certain things. I fucking love the rain. I hope 2009 contains loads of it, but not enough to flood the midwest again. Snow is nice, sun is good, but stormy, windy rain is just about my favorite.

Yes, the snow is pretty. Yes it is fun to walk and play in, and we rarely get snow like this in Portland. But did it have to snow the day after I get home from winter in Wisconsin where we have seven inches, and where I left my snow boots because usually it just *rains* here?  Sometimes I wish I could disconnect my emotional impulse mechanism and not get sucked into looking for extra meaning in other people's actions. Life might be a lot easier to work through.
