has anyone ever seen the musical Nine? if so, could a high school do it? i like it because there are only two men and the music is good, but ive never seen it so i cant be sure if it would work. also, it sounds like it might be too provocative for conservative Melrosians, which could be a problem. could we do aida...or is it too early to use that, copywrite wise...it only has like, 4 male parts, and the backup guards could, in theory, be played by girls....they don't even sing, just dance...it would be perfect...

I've never understood how Carousel got accepted as a "nice" play when it centers around an abusive husband who just can't help hitting his wife... but it's all right, because he loves her. Riiiiiight. (Then again, I just don't like Carousel, which ostracizes me from many of my theatre friends.)

As for Nine? I actually was in a music workshop class that did the last few songs of Nine, with me as Guido. Yup, I had to sing that damned "Guido with no intervening actors, Guido at the mercy of detractors, Guido here with no one else but Gui-DOOOOOO" <----(insert ridiculously high note).

I dunno... Would that show work without a full orchestra? Does Melrose get an orchestra or a guy at a piano? I was never part of the Melrose musical scene...
