I could not physically get out of Waltham this morning. I'm home now and I have no idea what I'm going to do today...

So I left this morning, went the same way I always do..slow going, some huge puddles, get to the exit and up ahead there's a huge huge puddle and a car is stuck, blocking the entrance to the MA Pike. So I take a U-turn and think I' ( Read more... )

Route 30 is really bad, too. I am a really early commuter and even I had to tack on an extra half hour this a.m. for all the washouts on the roads. When did Boston get a monsoon season??

I know, right?? By the time I got to the second highway entrance that was a total mess I was just laughing in the car..I couldn't think of any other way to get OUT to Westborough..so I figured I'd just go home.

But all the streets in Waltham were either backed up or flooded out with cars stuck or turning around and I started getting nervous..I'm kind of not really anxious to go out and do it again..

Route 110 is pretty shitty as well. These storms are ridiculous D: I hope it doesn't ruin a chance at a good fall.

I just couldn't believe what I was seeing...cars up to their WINDOWS because they tried to get through a puddle which then opened up and ate the whole car..

Things like that you see on the news in the Midwest!! Not in WALTHAM!!

I know!! Monday I was driving home in pounding rain, bright sunshine and HAIL. The world is certainly coming to an end.

I've heard some horror stories about the T this week! Wasn't one line hit by lightning and shut down?? Totally crazy!!

Yup, I'm getting some stuff done at home..I'll probably officially call it a half day..I have no desire to go back out and get stuck INSIDE my own town :op

oh dear!
it's good you are home, though, or you would be a stressball all day.

this is why we need a secret file of things that we would do if we surprisingly were given bonus time off.

you COULD be productive.
or you COULD just get in your sweats and watch crap tv.

That's true..especially because another storm is moving across the state..so there's more coming. Jon works on the street I'd be traveling, so he's been texting me updates, but it's not looking good around here!!

I'm thinking of baking..we have blueberries...homemade muffins maybe?

I'm being productive for a little while, but I'm still in sweats on the couch waiting for The View to start :op

Don't risk yourself! Stay home and keep safe until the flood waters recede.
