This weekend was wonderful.

On Saturday we went to a meeting with our wedding venue which went really well. We saw the place in spring instead of bleak November and it was gorgeous. I still get butterflies when I walk into that ballroom.

Then, we headed down to Newport, RI for the night. Jon got this promotional email for a hotel room for $100.

Even just a 1 night get-away felt really good. Don't be too jealous! Take a whole night off from life! Sit, relax and watch dumb movies with Vin :o)

Sometimes those crappy spam-looking emails can actually yield good results though!! If the hotel room hadn't been so ridiculously cheap, we wouldn't have even thought to go!

There was so much going on too!! If the game hadn't been on and our feet weren't about to fall off, we could've had an awesome night bar hopping and listening to fun bands!!

I love Newport!! I just hate how busy it gets in the summer.

Justin happened to be by our venue last night and he said he's so glad we picked it after seeing it without ice all over haha

Yeah...the summer is crazy! There are only so many cars you can physically fit in Newport...

Are you getting married here or in IL? Did you decide on colors?? What's next on the planning agenda?

In Illinois! Justin is on tour so he happened to be in the area and they decided to go see the venue.

Just picked out my bridesmaid dresses (see latest post) and I guess next on the agenda is flowers. I feel like we're truckin on the big stuff since our wedding is still a year out. I need to decide on accent colors. I'm thinking some yellow and maybe just white as accents.
