Over the last two days, I've received weird, link-only emails from 3 different SSHG fen, at least two of whom I know to be very security-minded. I've only just let the third know about it, because I only just got that last email, but the first two were able to determine that their accounts had been accessed by someone in another country

The other common thread I'm noticing is that most, if not all, are Yahoo addresses.

They hacked mine about 2 days ago. I'm not in the exchange though. I got a hacked email from someone on my flist this morning, so it's going around.

Huh. Someone downthread mentioned that she had noted a lot coming from people she'd only ever communicated with before as an admin at TPP. Do you have an account there? Maybe someone's scraping the profiles there for addies?

I've been getting huge amounts of spoofed emails coming into the exchange account, and I do wonder if there is some sort of link

I get random ones all the time, but three who have not only a fandom but a ship in common seemed like more than a coincidence, and if you're getting a bunch ...

Turns out there was a massive breach at yahoo. Suppose the connection is that so many people we know just are fandom peeps

I received one of those, too, from a friend for whom I regularly beta--but they're not part of the Exchange or HP fandom, so I think it must be something larger. But you're right: it definitely IS something going around.
