Talking at cross-purposes

So, to preface this, I should note that I made it a point to find some kind of rainbow-themed earrings that meet the dress code where I work. Stunningly difficult, as most seem to be dangly-type earrings. I even have a set of those, but I don't need a dress code to tell me how monumentally stupid it would be to give some of my residents dangly ( Read more... )

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about how iffy it can be to venture beyond the LGBT-friendly safe neighborhoods (even in SoCal, for goodness sakes), and you remind me that there are so many iffy spaces that people have no choice about entering. I love you so much for making an effort to ensure that your LGBT patients feel safe. It's the icing on the cake that your efforts made another patient happy :D *squishes you because you are awesome*

Thank you. *squishes back* It's enlightened self-interest, though, really. I'm going to be an "LGBT elder" someday, so I want these weaknesses in the system fixed sooner rather than later.
