I love the last line, too, entirely because it's the one that borrows from "To Have a Home" (the AVPS song) the most out of the whole epilogue. Darren Criss did such a brilliant job writing that song I swear I could have just quoted it line for line instead of writing an epilogue at all. It's a phenomenal glimpse into the mind of an abused kid finding a safe place where he's loved, and if I'm being entirely honest, seeing Darren Criss sing it as a sad little Harry Potter is probably the reason I made him the main character of the story and not one of the other gleeks.

The Evanses thinking he's a superhero and like Batman, and the absolute wonderfulness of Detective Warren--and that final scene between Blaine and his parents. I can't wait to read the sequel. This was such a well-told heartbreaking story.

Darren Criss singing "To Have a Home" owns a significantly large part of my soul at the moment, and it's so perfect for this Blaine (and Harry Potter, who is so busy being an epic hero in quest mode sometimes I forget that he started out as an abused kid when I read the books).

I've been plotting the sequel somewhat the entire time I've been writing the first half of the story, but I've only just started to get serious about it, so hopefully that will make the actual writing process go a little faster when it gets started.

I think it's fairly safe to say that this AU isn't done yet. Honestly the only reason I wrote this first story is to properly set up the sequel. I'm the world's biggest h/c addict. It's like crack to me (reading it and writing it), but I don't like the stuff that leaves out the comfort at the end. It's the only reason I care about the hurt at the beginning, so I'm very much looking forward to sinking my teeth into the next half of the story (even if it takes me longer to write it).

Okay, I'm just saying this is seriously one of the most beautiful fics I've ever read! Your writing is so in the moment and you just put the reader right there and make them feel all the things the characters are feeling!
I've been anxiously awaiting each section of this fic and I can't believe it is over!

There will be more eventually! I want to put up a sequel for this as well. I don't know how soon it will be up, but I may try to work on at least getting a prologue of some sort posted for you guys by the end of September so you don't forget about me :)
