I'll just be over here removing the tree branch from my eye. *sobs* I feel like everything is getting better for Blaine but not getting better at all at the same time. How do you do that?
I had worried about adding the scene with the video at all, because part of me thought letting Blaine know that he had always been gay was a bit of a cop out in his journey to accepting himself, but then I thought: Fuck that! If anyone's earned some freebies from the universe, it's Blaine. Bring on the cute videos! :D
As someone who has a problem telling and not showing with what I write, I'm beyond thrilled to hear you say that you think Blaine's issues are coming across without being spelled out. Seriously, it's one of my worst habits as a writer, so it means a lot that you're saying that.
And he's such a pill in this section, isn't he? He's actually been toned down a little bit (because I had to cut some stuff I had planned with Quinn since it interrupted the flow of the story too much), but the way I look at it is he's dealing with some very intense stuff and is experiencing what it's like to be a teenager in an environment where it's safe for him to start acting like one for the first time in his life. He's got a lot of brattiness to get out of his system :)
And yes, the last scene was a major breakthrough moment. Technically it's only the first half of it, because it was too unweildy to leave in one section, but more of the fallout from that scene is what part four will kick off with.
The main reason I had Blaine's dad not talk to Blaine about what was bothering him right off the bat is because I still want to give a nod to the official show canon. We know next to nothing about Blaine's family and what we do know can be taken so many different ways right now, so I suppose what I'm basing my Mr. Anderson on is the idea that the show's Mr. Anderson might not be as narrow-minded as his son thinks. They may just not know how to talk to each other. Burt and Kurt are two extremely different people, but when it matters they can always sit down and talk until they come to an understanding. With Blaine and his dad I'm trying to explore what it's like for a father and son not to have those sorts of communication skills, especially in a situation as hard as this one

Also, little!Blaine saying he's going to marry Anderson Cooper and he'll be Anderson Anderson is too adorable. But in context, it's tragic.
I'm also really happy that's there's evidence that Blaine was already gay! Maybe it helps Blaine to know that.
