"I remember," Blaine says over Trent's shoulder as he pats him amiably on the back. "One time after we started hanging out, Puck told me to bring extra clothes to school the next day, because he had decided we were 'bros' and was going to toss me into the dumpster to celebrate. He said he felt bad for doing it to you for so long so he decided the best way to make up for it was to throw all of his other guy friends into garbage containers, too. So you wouldn't feel different."

sorry, i scared my cat by laughing so hard at this bit. that's SUCH a puck thing to do!

Thanks for commenting, and it really is a Puck thing, isn't it? The guy had a dumpster quota in season one, I can easily see him communicating his feelings through where he chooses to throw people haha.

I just... why are they just allowing Rachel to be there? Spy! She’s a spy! XD

Even Brad wanders over to pat Blaine a little absently on the head after he's wiped off his glasses. Brad will forever be part cat in my eyes now. Or wise-dog. Brad is Wise Dog, with glasses.

Also, real subtle Thad. Graceful as a swan you are. Noticeable as a fish through water. Well done. And Wes. “Are hugs your thing?” Sorry but kjdfnlakjfgnaldfgjnalkfnldkafjgn!! Wes <3 (And Puck!)

On a more serious note, this -- Blaine has the horrible fleeting thought that now he knows what expression she'll wear if she ever gets hit by a spouse -- just, okay. Holy shit ow. That is an amazing line, fuck.

That spousal abuse line came out of nowhere when I wrote it. I actually stopped writing after because it freaked me out so much. In the end I left it in, because it's so disturbing and so unexpectedly dark, it's an effective way of showing that Blaine is still very much a product of who raised him. He's not going to run out and start molesting people or beating up Kurt, it's not about that. But there are still parts of his mind that have been wired to look at the world and see things from a much darker place than the person next to him :(

I'm glad you left it in, honestly, because you're right, it does quite effortlessly and effectively show a dark side to Blaine that just isn't there to be cured.

It must be very hard for Blaine, so many emotions involved!

Thanks again for commenting! Yeah, Blaine has a lot of trouble sorting through where he stands with his family, for sure. He's spent such a long time thinking his relationship with them was one thing, it's hard for him to let go of what he's spent his life believing was the truth, even if the reality is so much better than what he thought it was.

oh goodness. i'm so sorry this has taken me so long to read the next part. of the same chapter. *epic facepalm* real life is such a bitch.

Blaine is breaking my heart, but that doesn't really surprise me given the subject matter. this part was beautiful, and I loved the line from stevie about it not feeling better, because he hasn't cried long enough. Blaine is gonna be crying for a really long time then huh? he's gotta lot of shit to deal with.

Anyways, absolutely lovely, and hopefully it won't take me so long to finish this chapter. :/

That's okay! I'm sorry it took me so long to answer (repeating your comments about the bitchiness of life haha).

And yeah, lots of crying for Blaine. I've always gotten the impression on the show that he internalizes a lot of his more painful emotions. That's not healthy at the best of times, but when you put that character trait into this particular scenario, it becomes a big problem really quickly. But at least he's addressing it now, so things have a chance to start looking up! :)

It is indeed a lot of emotions for someone who doesn't exist, but still it's better than focusing that intense hatred on an actual person who isn't Hitler or someone evil like that. If we all decided to violently hate fake people instead of real ones, I think it's safe to say the world would be a better place haha.

Personally, I secretly adore Rachel, although I get tired of all the focus she pulls on the show. I rarely relate to her, but she amuses me to no end. And, like Sue, she is a riot to write for. There's nothing quite as exhilarating as writing from the headspace of character completely out of touch with the world around them haha.

But I digress. Thanks so much for commenting and giving it a shot. I'm so happy that you like it :D
