Lately I find that I always love when fic I'm reading pauses in the main story arc and deals - in whichever way - with Quinn and her problems, takes care of this huge, significant problem this character has in even the slightest way, or even acknowledges the gravity of it, which is more than the show has ever done. So, really glad you even initiated her change here <3
But just, overall, I love this chapter incoherently. Also the therapist, and Kurt's roommate, and. *spouts broken incoherence*
I'm noticing a trend with Quinn in my serious stories. I can't seem to write her without trying to fix her. She's far from my favourite character on Glee, and I hate her romantic storylines, but there's something about how sad and empty she is that destroys me. The show tends to use it as a plot device instead of really taking the time to look carefully at it, but Quinn's lack of self-worth is the only consistent feature they've given to her character.
It's why she got a nose job and made herself over. It's why she had unprotected sex and got pregnant. It's why she fights so hard to stay popular, no matter who she hurts. It's why she breaks all the boys she dates. It's why she hates self-assured-no-matter-what Rachel. It's why she always holds the glee club at arm's length. It's why she wants Beth back. She's desperate to feel love and acceptance somewhere without being terrified of anyone taking it back.
And I've never gotten over the way the show had her move back in with her mother after a two-sentence apology when her stupid

You telling us to envision Kurt's roommate as Dick from Veronica Mars just made that last scene 100x better. Cause I can so see that being something Dick would say! (And I just love that you made a VM reference at all!)
Oh man. Veronica is easily in my top three TV shows of all time. I love it so much, and while Dick was... a Dick, and not the kind of a character I would wish one anyone, Ryan Hansen was so charming in the part, that when Kurt's roommate started to become a bigger part of the story as someone with the ability to be charmingly offensive, I instinctively started to write him like the RH Rob Thomas characters.
This is riveting. Downright awesome AWESOME dialogue and storytelling. And the characterization! I love Blaine's family, i was tearing up when Mama Anderson went in on Quinn. Intense stuff.
I'm enjoying this story immensely so far, and let me just say that my mom has been a foster parent to 3 teenage (not all at the same time) girls. Whilst raising biological teenage girls (me and my sisters). I'lll let that sink in. I don't know how we got through that, it did help that we knew all of them (we lived across the street from a girls home), two of which were distant family my mom wanted to keep out of the horrible system. A lot of people don't want to put up with a girl's baggage, but i think Kurt and Blaine will be able to and help Maggie.
So, Thank you for including a little info about adoption and foster possesses. It's important and imperfect but more people should know about it.
Thanks for commenting! I'm really glad you enjoyed it and that you liked the stuff about foster care and adoption. This show lost a lot of brownie points with me in their handling of the adoption storylines, and I really wanted to include something that was closer to reality and acknowledged less glamorized ways to adopt as well.
Yes, I think that they are. It took him a while to let himself trust the process, but now that he's gotten used to it, it's actually a lot of fun to write the scenes with Dr. Hong. Thanks for commenting :)
I am SOOOO sorry it's taken me forever to read and review this. I have no excuses other than RL is a bitch, but still. I feel horrible that it's taken me as long as it has to read this part. And unfortunately, it could still take me a while to finish the story in general, but I do love it, and it's just so fabulous

Oh god do I ever understand about real life being a bitch haha. I've got about 5 different fics waiting for me to catch up on now that school's over.
I'm glad you liked all the stuff with Quinn! I don't know what it is about that (now literal) wreck of a character, but damned if I don't always feel compelled to help her get her act together. I wonder what I'll do for subplots now that the show has finally grown a brain and started to do it in actual show canon xD
And yeah, they definitely get oral sorted out at some point. I don't know if I'll ever find space to write about it in a one-shot, but they definitely get there. I imagine there are some things he'd never be okay with (D/s immediately comes to mind), but that's normal, too. No one is okay with everything, but he does genuinely trust Kurt and wants to experience as many different things with him as he can so, for them, the eventual addition of oral is a part of that (if you want to know just how pathetically obsessively I've plotted the parts of the story I'll never write,
