Thanks so much! And yeah, it really is a weird little story. The book it's based on is pretty strange, too. It's an incredible read (and probably a bit mind-boggling and insane if you've never read a MacDonald story before), but it's so DEEP for a children's book, especially one written in the Victorian era. I'm really glad you like my attempt at a drastically simplified, shamelessly modified rewrite!

"If you want to live with dreams you need to decide early, before you make people need you."

This was the most profound and painful thing to read. I needed it in my life like you would not believe.

Wow thanks so much for saying that. That was the result of me trying my damndest to be as profound and mind-bendingly deep as the novel where I stole that inspired the plot. The little throwaway moments like that were some of the ones I was the most worried about, so I'm so glad it worked :)

Well, it is totally deep and profound and mind-bending... it is something I personally struggle with, so, yeah. Big deal. It sort of instantly brought tears to my eyes.

So lovely! And the idea of poor Tina, running away at age 5, and Kurt unable to help her, so sad, but the bravery and courage Blaine shows in insisting that he can help her - I'm a litlle in love with this character already. :)
