I saw it tonight, and personally I thought it was brilliant. I can't say I was ever really sure where it was going, but the action never let up so it didn't matter really... Better than the second one, I thought.

Not sure what was up with Jack at the start of the movie... I think the writers must have been on crack or something when they wrote that

I loved it, though I do find it a little depressing to think that Will's going to be immortal after Elizabeth's grown old and died. I mean, really! And what's it about her not being able to sail with him? Somehow I don't see Elizabeth staying ashore for the rest of her life so why not hop aboard the Flying Dutchman every now and then so they don't have to go a whole ten years without seeing each other? A whole day of sex is well and good but what kind of a relationship is that, eh?

Maybe I've thought about that too much.

In the last short scene after the credits, it's ten years later and Elizabeth and a kid (about nine years old...) are walking up to the top of the cliff to meet Will coming back.

I agree with you about Elizabeth... that was one part I was dissatisfied with after thinking about it - she gets to be Pirate King and all that other jazz so now she's just going ashore to basically be the wife Will comes home to every ten years? She gets a pretty bad lot...
