Am I the only one who noticed how Anakin is willing to share power with others? He doesn't seem to want power for the sake of it; I think he wants power because he thinks he can help, or more accurately, fix things with it. Now, we all know that Anakin didn't quit the Jedi Order until he turned Sith...but I think there's an explanation for that. According to the Duluth Model, men, and only men, are capable of abuse. Also, it is the idea that man are raised to abuse and subjugate women. If a man abuses a woman, according to this model, men don't batter because of previous abuse he suffered, personality disorders, drinking, etc. No, it's because he is a man. I've found a good essay on sagajournal about Anakin as a byronic hero. He's certainly been called a tragic hero before, but I think this shows that the term byronic hero applies to him as well:
