I want to go to Nancy's memorial service but I've never been to Portland before. Any tips for hotels & interesting places to eat?

Go to Voodoo Donut!

We stayed a couple places when we went. Near the airport was Embassy Suites and that was niiiiice. In town we stayed at the Residence Inn Lloyd Center and we really liked it. They had free breakfast and a sitting area, a kitchen, and free internet access. It is really close to the MAX.

We ate at Deschutes Brewery and it was tasty. But even more I loved Salvador Molly's.

Well, I live in EUGENE, which is mega cool, but too far (2 hours). I'd love to see you. When are you going? You can totally stay with us if you're here before July 17th or after July 31.
Voodoo Donuts is the latest hot thing. They have maple bars with bacon on them. My friend Liz lives there and is totally in the know, so I'll ask her for ya.

I know it's a bittersweet occasion, but I could also maybe meet you up in Portland if you're up for it. I'll need a break from my family after a zillion days on the road through southern California.
