Whee!
Okay, so I went to bed around 12:30-ish (shocking, I know...) last night... and then I woke up around 9 this morning. I ate, got dressed and then my mom and I went to le fencing club.

Shmokay. Well, we walked in, and there was..5-7 people there (And they were: Veronica, Jessica, Ray, Cory, Lee, some kid who I did not get introduced to). We looked around, waiting for someone to notice us (lol).

A girl, who was sitting down, glanced over and asked if I was new. I said yes and she responded "Oh, well, that's why you're looking around confused!" Heh. She introduced herself as Veronica. Another girl introduced herself as Jessica.
They convinced me (somehow.. I really wasn't planning to have my lesson that day.. I just wanted to check it out.) to have my lesson today, and took me out on the floor to stretch. Ouchie. Haven't stretched that much since 5th grade, when I was in cheerleading.
Well, anyway, we finished after like... 20- 30 minutes? Yeah.
Then Veronica and Jessica showed me the proper stance and footwork (who could've thought moving your feet could make your legs feel like jelly?!) like advance, retreat, and lunge. They had me practice in front of mirrors for.. oh, say 45 minutes? Actually, it wasn't too terribly boring, but that might be because I was so excited.
I got quite single-minded, paying attention to pretty much just my feet, stance, and the way I was moving. I intend to make moving that way instinctual, so I don't have to pay attention to it (when I'm fencing, not normal walking. Duh.).

Yesh, then Veronica got me a foil, and I looked for a left-handed glove. She showed me how to hold it, and then brought me over to a dummy (with had little drawing of circles with dots in the middle) and had me practice lunging at it, aiming for one of the circles. I got the end of the foil pretty much in the circle every time (surprise, surprise!), and a few times on the dot.

After awhile I took a break and watched the people fence, while Ray (a really funny adult, who, surprisingly, wasn't a coach.), Veronica, or Jessica explained what the fencers were doing. A lot of it I already knew (from research, teehee), like the right of way and what parts of the body are targets in different events.  Mm, it was very interesting.
I'm so excited! ^_^ I'm going to the Group Beginner's Lessons on Tuesday.
I wonder how that'll turn out.
